Fall
is the time to sow grass seed! Peterson’s Sunny Mix and Shady Mix seeds are packaged specifically for local area soils. Apply 4 lbs. per 1000 square feet, water at least every three days until grass is established. Peterson’s also recommends fertilizing with 4-12-36 or 8-10-30 mixtures.
Grilled
Steamed Corn Place the corn, with the husks still on, in a pan of cold water. Leave them to soak for about 20 minutes. Remove the silks from the end of the ear, but do not pull the husks back. Place the corn on the grill and cook for about 20 minutes, approximately 10 minutes to a side. Once off the grill, let the ears cool a few minutes before shucking them. Serve with butter, salt and pepper. Yum!
