More
than a Century of Farm Heritage
The
North Branch Milling Company opened for business in 1897 as a flour
mill that milled rye flour for home use. The area farmers supplied
rye, which they would trade for flour. The steam-powered mill continued
to grind its "Model Home Flour" until 1954. In 1956 the
old mill was purchased by the Peterson family and converted into
a feed mill that was powered by electricity. Peterson's Country
Mill continues its rich heritage with expanded services designed
for today's country living (more).
